Can I change the field/sector, after getting an HSMP ?

Hi,
As the subject says, this is precisely my case : I am in IT (on WP in UK) and have cleared some Actuarial exams, and am keen to join the UK Actuarial market.
I would be applying for the HSMP on the basis of my IT experience, qualification and past earnings.

Questions :
a) Is that outlaw ?
b) Would my UK IT experience help me getting into Actuarial field here ?

Hello there,
After getting your HSMP approval, you must show that you are economically active for a further extension of 3 years (or that you have made reasonable efforts to be). It does not matter which field you are in. Having said that though, I anticipate that you would need to be in a professional position. Example: If you were in IT and then moved to door-to-door sales, I suspect your extension may not be approved.

However, I dont see any problem in moving from the IT to the actuarial market. But also note that getting a job in the UK can be difficult and it would help tremendously if you actually get some experience in the actuarial market in your part of the woods before you made the leap to the UK.
