Embassy stating passport renewal will take 6 months need urgent help!!

Hi there everyone I’m in a sticky situation and need some urgent advice. So I have a ILR in the UK and have an Afghan passport which has expired I applied to get it renewed but was told this will take 6 months the problem is I had booked flights already to turkey what am I supposed to do in this situation? I have travelled to turkey before and it’s for tourism purposes. I have A UK ILR but the passport is expired and I have no idea what I should do the flights are at the end of next month. How do I get a emergency travel document or is that even an option? Can someone please help me out here if you’ve been in a similar situation!! Thanks
