BC Application with Speeding Offence

Hello,

I have been preparing to apply for my BC application, But unfortunately I've got caught speeding offence for the second time recently (Driving 37 mph on 30 mph road) both time

First Speeding: 07/07/2018 - Attended speed awareness course. No points
Second Speeding: 15/07/2019 - £100 fine & 3 points.

Other than this I have no convictions, Would this likely cause any issues for BC application now or Should I need to wait to apply?

Hi there,

I don't think you have to worry about the first one, because you attended a driver awareness course, what's mean you haven't been convicted or prosecuted.

"When applying for car insurance, insurers may ask if you have any motoring convictions or prosecutions. As neither of these apply to drivers who have attended a driver awareness course, the Financial Ombudsman has confirmed that drivers attending a course can honestly answer ‘No’ to this question."

I know it's not stricly about citizenship but i think it applies to it as well.

Have you had a look at the good character guidance(PDF) and the relevant bits of the guide detailing how these convictions may affect your application? (notably pages 18 and 19, but also the section on cumulative offences p53 )

Also have a look at Q8 of this FAQ

I'm sure the advise you will get here is only speculative and based on the same information we all read in the guide and the ultimate decision on whether to apply or not - is yours, but in the end its up-to the caseworker to make a decision or consider discretion. However i have seen cases were speeding or other traffic offenses in the last 12 months before an application lead to rejections
