Delivery Timescales for Couriered Visa/Passport

Post by KristianDLloyd » Thu Aug 01, 2019 6:07 pm

Hi,

We have just heard that a decision has been made on our visa application. My partner opted for a delivery service to his parents' home address.

The application was made outside the UK, in Shanghai, China. The Embassy in Beijing called my partner today to confirm the travel details as he had provided a date of 1/8/19. They asked him to amend this date, which is interesting.

Anyway, I just wondered what others' experiences were of having passports delivered to a home address outside the UK? Does the passport leave the Embassy and go to VFS to forward on to the applicant?

I would review/post in the timeline thread, but there seem to be very few that opt for delivery over collection!

Thanks,

My passport got delivered to my home address in Mexico. However, the application visa process was carried on by VFS Global, not the British embassy. At the visa centre, I've prepaid a form from a courier company and when the decision was made, they have posted my documents and passport back to me. And I got my documents two days after.

Hi - thanks for the advice, much appreciated!

We applied through VFS in Shanghai, but it was 100% the British Embassy in Beijing that called my partner (they introduced themselves as such) to confirm his intended travel dates.

Hopefully, not too long to wait to find out the decision :?
