Sponsor responsibility?

Just a quick question if you know:

As a sponsor, do you have any obligation?

I mean, if a school sponsors a student for a Tier 4 and the student leaves the course, they have to tell the Home Office. I think there is something similar when a company sponsors a Tier 2.

Now, for individual, is there anything similar? If an EEA national sponsors a family member, then that family member leaves when he has the card in hand, is there any responsibility from the sponsor towards the Home Office? Is he supposed to report that change of circumstances?
