Family's Tier 2 visa finishes 29 days before date of submission of ILR application

My family's tier 2 visa started 5 years ago on 27/11/2014. They along with me are due to submit their ILR application on 31st Oct or 1st Nov 2019. Current tier 2 visa of my family finishes on 03/10/2019. Do they need to renew their tier 2 visa before submitting ILR application or is there any other way to avoid it?

Apply online before visa expiry top avoid overstaying, try to book the UKVCAS appointment from 31st onwards
