Multiple Entry Schengen. Point of Entry

Post by Leela » Wed Jul 09, 2008 9:07 pm

Hello,

I wonder if anyone can please tell me:

If you have a 90 day visa, and you use it for a second and third trip, does your point of entry have to be the country which issued the Schengen visa in the first instance?

Thank you in advance.

No, unless
Schengen visa wrote:Under specific circumstances, the territorial validitiy of a Schengen visa of the categories B, C, or D+C is issued with territorial validity to not all of the Schengen states. Such visa may, for example, be issued for humanitarian or other specific reasons. Territorial validity may also be restricted in case that the travel document in which it is affixed is not accepted by all of the Schengen states. In such cases, the visa authorises a foreigner entry, stay, and exit exclusively in the territory of one or more Schengen member states for which the visa is valid.

No, assuming that it's an "ordinary" Schengen visa. And you don't have to visit the country that issued the visa either.

Thank you for your replies. If I may I would like to ask 2 questions. I am going on a trip with my boyfirend, who is French and I am staying with him part of the trip and the other part we are touring Italy. He has been told that because he is a student he cannot give me aletter of invitation (Attestastion d'acceuil). I usually make hotel bookings even though I am staying with him, but this is becoming quite tedious. Is that the only way of doing dealing with the accommodation issue?

Secondly, when we are traveling from France to Italy, would the Italian consulate as part of the required documentation, require proof of my means of travel around the schengen states and if so, how do I convey to them that I am traveling with my boyfriend in his car and am not using public transport that I booked?

Where are you from? You might not need to do anything at all if your only staying 90 days. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Visa_Waiver_Program
