UK TIER 2 GENERAL DOCUMENTS

Hi,
My wife will be applying for TIER 2 GENERAL from India. She has TIER 2 - ICT STAFF PARTNER till 2020.

Below are the documentation we have planned to submit. Please advise if any obvious document is missing. we have not got the rCOS letter, but we were communicated that it has been approved and will be forwarded shortly after health clearance. So no idea if it is SOC or Maintenance taken care etc. I will update further on progress. Hoping these will help future applicants.

1. PASSPORT - Original / copy
2. COS LETTER - Copy
3. TIER 2 ICT DEPENDENT BRP CARD - Original / copy
4. UG DEGREE CERTIFICATE - Original / copy
5. UG ACADEMIC TRANSCRIPT - Original / copy
6. UKNARIC - ACADEMIC QUALIFICATION STATEMENT - Original (Received via RED ROUTE)
7. UKNARIC - ENGLISH LANGUAGE STATEMENT - Original (Received via RED ROUTE)
8. Medium of instruction letter from university. - Copy.
9. Police Clearance Certificate - Original
10. TB Test Report - Original
11. Offer letter - Copy
12. National Insurance Number Letter - Original/ Copy (DO I NEED TO GIVE THIS? She has NI Number)
13. 3 Months - UK Bank Statement (Joint Account with Husband) - Copy
14. 3 Months - Home country Bank Statement - Copy
15. IHS Payment Confirmation.
16. VISA Application Payment confirmation.
17. Completed visa application for TIER 2.
18. Covering letter.

Dear Members,

Today (05-08-2019) my wife went for bio-metrics appointment at VFS Chennai for Tier 2 General.

we had purchased document scanning assistance service for Rs.650.

While submitting documents VFS scanned and uploaded all documents and gave back all the originals except passport.
She insisted to submit TB, Police clearance, UK Naric originals but they said not required and photocopies are sufficient.

So in short she has submitted COPIES of all documents and ORIGINAL passport.

Is this a norm or new process. I was under impression that even if you upload we need to submit originals of degree, TB, PCC and NARIC.

Have any other members got visa without submitting originals in VFS.?

Yes it is the norm. I have received visa this way.

You got it the same week on Saturday? They deliver it on Weekends too?

Yes i got same week saturday. We opted for courier delivery instead of collection from VFS.

Yes the applicant (my wife) was in UK. But to be on safer side she got the TB test done. I did not want to take any chance. She submitted Police certificate and TB report.

what do you mean by "1. PASSPORT - Original / copy"?
Did you copy all the pages or only the first page with your personal information?

Passport copies are not required anymore. VFS scans all passport pages and uploads them.

Thanks, but I will apply through TSL not VFS. It should be the same for both.

Get it in Passport Seva kendra PSK in your city. Apply for PCC which is a same day service mostly. It is from home country. you dont need Police certficate from UK for ICT to General.

Did your wife get her visa by her existing employer ?
If yes, did she get a new offer letter used old one while submitting documents ?

No. She got sponsor from a new employer.

Q1. Is the police certificate from India or UK. I have lived in UK for the past 5 years and am applying to General Visa Tier 2 from India now.
Q2 . Is the police certificate needed for my dependants as well? ( My spouse and a minor son)

Never mind, Saw an earlier post in this thread explaining the process, Thanks everyone

Apply online in passport seva Kendra website. It is 600 rupees and you get appointment the very next day. If there is no adverse report in system you get it when you come out of the psk office. No need to visit police station.
