EEA Family permit received. What next

Post by jama44 » Mon Sep 16, 2019 12:58 pm

Hi Guys,

Got my EEA family permit today. Next step right now is booking a flight and leaving.

Once I'm there what is the first thing to do ?

Apply for pre-settled status ?
Apply for a bank account ?

Aim to arrive before Brexit date.

1. Apply for a EEA Residence Card
2. If Residence Card does not include national Insurance Number (I'm unsure if new ones do), then apply for a National Insurance Number.
3. Apply for Pre-Settled Status.
4. Everything else.

You could choose to skip step 1., but it is still a valid route for you, and might be handy. It is really up to you to decide (see post of comparison RC Vs Settled Status with pros and cons).
