UKVCAS document categories

Post by Jaydashin » Tue Sep 24, 2019 10:52 pm

Hi all,

I have a query regarding documents that I need to upload in UKVCAS website.

I have agreed to provide the following documents in my application:

· The passport issued by the country

· Life in the UK Test pass notification

· Proof of living in the UK

· Proof of freedom from immigration time restrictions

· The degree certificate to prove the level of English language required

· Two referee declarations

· Evidence of identity

· Current Biometric Residence Permit

In UKVACS website it’s asking me to upload documents under the following category:

· Poof of application

· Other

· Residence in the UK

· Finances

· Proof of business

· Life events

· Medical information

· Sponsors/Employment

· Proof of identity/Travel history

· Educational

Can anyone help me in identifying what document from the first list needs to go under UKVACS document categories?

Just put all your AN documents under category "Other". The category list covers documents for many different applications. The caseworkers will see all documents.
This is just my opinion as a member of this forum and does not constitute immigration advice.

Thanks for the reply. Can I submit documents under multiple categories for e.g.

· Poof of application - My Passport

· Other - All documents including Referees declaration form.

· Residence in the UK - Passport, and BRP details

· Finances

· Proof of business

· Life events - Life in the UK test

· Medical information

· Sponsors/Employment

· Proof of identity/Travel history - Passport and BRP

· Educational - Degree Certificate

I wonder if everything needs to submit other "Other" section then do we need sections such as Residence in the UK, Life events, Proof of identity, Educational and Proof of application.

Do I also need to scan all the pages of my passport including the pages which don't have any travel stamp?

Under mandatory documents should suffice and no, you don’t need to scan blank pages

Hi, Aman thanks for such a quick reply. So when you said mandatory documents, are you referring to the passport pages that have stamps on it or are you saying it's sufficient to upload all the mandatory documents under the 'Other' category as mentioned above by other Alterhase.

Categories are not important as long you upload all documents. Its a generic list so just upload in the category you think fits the best. The UKVCAS website only classifies the current passport as the mandatory document (although other docs are mandatory also). So dont confuse yourself with mandatory or other. For example you can upload English Test and LIUK in education etc.

There have been cases where HO ask for passport later on so I always advise to scan all pages of the passport including blank pages (at least covering the qualifying period). Thats what I personally did with my applications.

In my case UKVCAS only scanned the pertinent pages. I even asked why the blank pages weren’t scanned to be told not required. 🤷🏻‍♀️

I lost my original Indian passport in 2010 and in naturalization application, they only ask for the last 5 years travel history. Do I still need to show my old passport copy under the residence in UK section? Not sure if its required.

· Finances

· Proof of identity/Travel history BRP I thought this one should be Passport as it's asking about travel history/ Identity - which can prove by passport only

· Educational LIUK and English

If you read closely the form gives the options which can be submitted as a proof of identity and BRP is one of them. This was just a suggestion. You can fit your docs as you wish.
I meant previous passports when I said old passports. Some one can have two passports or more covering that 5 year period.

  • Thank you so much for your reply. I lost my original passport 9 years ago in August 2010. I have received my new passport in November 2010. If I understood your reply correctly, I believe that I don't need to upload the copy of my lost passport as it's not covering the last 5 years required in the naturalization process.

Also one of my referees signed my document in blue color. Does it need to be in a specific color for e.g. black?
  • Can you confirm if these referees are acceptable i.e. First referee - Registered Nurse and British Citizen (Naturalised) and age is 39.

Second referee - SEO Manager working in a BANK and British Citizen (Born and brought up in UK) and age is 36.

Yes you need the passport covering the last 5 years.
Blue ink is fine.
Referees are fine.
