Study as a part of tier 2 general visa

I recently read that studies can be taken up as long as it doesn't disturb the job taken by sponsor. Does that mean we need to get clearance from the sponsor before starting part time studies ?

Yes, you can study but make sure it doesn't reduce your working time/house and salary.

If you have to go part time and get less money, that's an issue. Otherwise, it's ok to study.
