When to apply for naturalisation

Hi Members

I have recieved ILR recently on 19 Sep 2019. I beleive I can apply for naturalisation after a year,11 Sep 2020.
Can I submit the application before this date (say a month in advance) but book the biometric appointment after 11 Sep 2020 so I have a chance of getting a free appointment at that date and don't have to wait long to get appointments.

Also would same approach work when submitting ILR application next year for my spouce? Do they look at the application date or the decision date on these applications?

You have to stay on ILR for min 12 months. Can only apply after 19 Sep 2020.
Date of application is when you pay and submit. So only submit after the above date.
Biometrics date is irrelevant.
