Keep my family together

Post by Lostinlondon » Thu Oct 10, 2019 4:23 pm

Me and my husband to be are abroad with our daughter. We are both Jamaican but I hold ilr. His stay was denied over a year ago and since we couldn’t afford the appeal he has moved back home. We would also like to live out here with him until we can afford to apply for his ilr after getting married. My daughter is a British citizen. I would like to go back to the uk to apply for my citizenship but I don’t want to be away from my daughter for too long as she currently attends a great school here. Is there anything I can do to keep my family together and still obtain citizenship. My fear is if I leave it any longer than this year I will have to wait as I would have had more than 450 days out of the country over the 5 year period.

Help me not be away from my family for over a year.

When did you receive ur ILR? You must hold it for atleast 12 months before you can apply for British Citizenship.
You must also be physically present in the United Kingdom for atleast 12 months minus 3 months approx. to qualify for Citizenship amongst other things.
There is no way around the above.
