is my work permit for germany valid for other eu countries?

Post by mayita » Sun Jul 20, 2008 3:01 pm

hello to everyone,

I am non-european. For the moment i live and work in Germany, hence, I have german work and residence permits till the end of 2008. I would really like to move to France, Spain or Belgium, but don't know if my current permits will be automatically valid for these countries? or will it ease at least the obtaining of local permits in these three countries?

thank you in avdance,
Maya

No it doesn't.
You must have a permanent residence permit before any of the other things you enquire about might be possible.

this is the first time you said you have a permanent residence permit versus just a limited one so I am not doing this piecemeal.
when you received your permit and applied for them every govt publishes the conditions around it, I suggest you check the appropriate website for your country's visa.

I'm confused too but I don't think the OP has a PR permit, since in his/her first post s/he mentioned that the permit s/he has will expire in 2008. I think the question about the PR permit is hypothetical.
