Joint Account query for Teir1

Hi Guys,

My question is related to opening a joint bank account with my wife.

My extension is due in next year, I have an account with LLoyds TSB, i want to open a joint bank account with wife now. Should i open a new bank account in different bank(hsbc) with a joint one or should i change the existing one to joint? Please suggest. Will it be any problem in my extension if do it. Please suggest
