GenuineArticle2019 wrote: ↑Tue Apr 23, 2019 2:24 amHi all,
I've been reading this forum to find questions, regarding EEA extended family route, and I haven't been successful.
I would appreciate if someone could clarify whether a cousin of mine qualifies for the EEA extended family route.
Me: Swedish citizen with settled status living in the UK. Employed.
Cousin: Somali citizen currently living in Somalia.
I have been supporting my cousin financially since 2014/2015 with a monthly payment. She is living with friends who are due to move at the end of the year. She will have no relatives or friends to stay with. She doesn't own a property either.
Thanks
Do you have any proofs of the relationship between you and her and she gets financial support regularly from you?GenuineArticle2019 wrote: ↑Tue Apr 23, 2019 2:24 amHi all,

I can get the receipts for the monthly money transfers over the last 4 years- I hope that shows financial dependency.post wrote: ↑Wed Apr 24, 2019 4:06 amDo you have any proofs of the relationship between you and her and she gets financial support regularly from you?GenuineArticle2019 wrote: ↑Tue Apr 23, 2019 2:24 amHi all,

Thanks for the reply. Is the application straight forward in terms that I can fill out myself or do you reckon I should get help of a solicitor. Could you please tell me how I could proceed further.askmeplz82 wrote: ↑Mon May 06, 2019 10:10 pm'' I have been supporting my cousin financially since 2014/2015 with a monthly payment. There is no point speculating really. Just wait to get the decision letter and you will see.GenuineArticle2019 wrote: ↑Sat Nov 02, 2019 2:51 pmWe made the application few weeks ago. The appointment at the contact centre was 2 weeks ago. We have received an e-mail yesterday stating that decision has been made and documents are ready to be collected.
As a pessimist I'm assuming this quick decision=refusal.
Askmeplz82 what do you reckon?
Hi, update us with your results. I hope it is a positive result.GenuineArticle2019 wrote: ↑Sat Nov 02, 2019 2:51 pmWe made the application few weeks ago. Hi, I'm far from being an expert but is there a way to also give them more financial dependency proof? I obviously don't know your situation, possibly your cousin needs money for something (eg medical treatment)? How old is he\she? Does he\she work?GenuineArticle2019 wrote: ↑Mon Nov 04, 2019 5:12 pmUPDATE:
Refused on the basis of not showing enough financial dependency despite 1 year of remittance slips. Our solicitor said that their reason is ridiculous and most people submit less than a year's remittances as a proof of financial dependency.
Will appeal and submit extra 3 years of remittances (awaiting copies).
Does anyone know how slow/quick the appeal process is?
Parents are not EFMs. You should post this question in a separate thread.

I think year run up to Brexit, they were refusing applications left and right with quite petty reasons.
Good to see that your application for both your brother and parents have been successful.

Did you apply for your brother who is outside UK?
As my brother has applied for me as I am in UK for residence card. How long was the processing time in your case?
Thanks Sajid for your quick response.Sajid29 wrote: ↑Fri Jan 08, 2021 8:32 pmHello ,yes from outside and 5 weeks .
