Visitor Visa for Spouse. Change in circumstances

Post by HanShi » Tue Nov 05, 2019 11:40 am

Hello,
Would appreciate any help on this.
Scenerio: I have 2 year visitor visa which I got when I was working last year in India. I have visited UK before on Tier-2 and Visitor Visa.
Now: I am living in Turkey with my British wife (we got married in Turkey), I don't have a job yet. My wife is moving back to the UK. She will find a place and a job in the meantime (she is registered as a freelance). We plan to apply for Family Visa in the near future when we meet the financial requirements.

Can I visit her using my Visitor Visa in the meanwhile?

Hello

I don't see why not you can't.

The fact that you are married to a British citizen doesn't have any bearing on your visiting visas and doesn't prohibit you from coming to the UK as a visitor if you have a valid visa.

Thank you for the response.
My big worry is when I got the visa I had a job and now I don't. Wonder if that has a bearing at the immigration counter.
We are worried as we don't want this to impact our Spouse Visa application later on.

It shall not. I also had visitor's visa and it was even received through UK company invitation (so for business visits). However, I was opened with immigration officers that I'm visiting my husband and all three times earlier this year it was fine.

I was a bit nervous myself but I don't think that I was breaking any rules. Visa was received when I was working, all info that I provided was correct and genuine, it's the same type of visa (visitors, though different sub-type).
