Hello All-

We got my husband's HSMP application sent off yesterday via special delivery and according to Royal Mail's tracking info, it arrived at 6:40 this morning! I don't see how anyone could be there at that hour to sign for it.

We asked for the HSMP team to consider expediting the application, since the hiring company is very anxious for husband to begin full time as soon as possible. As the company is American, I don't know if this will work. We thought it was worth asking.

Does anyone know how applications are handled once they reach Doncaster? Are they opened and sorted right away, or do they sit for some time before someone takes a look?

I'm assuming we have a minimum wait of at least 8 weeks or so. Does anyone have any idea what the latest figures are for the number of applications that they're receiving? It seems to be going up all the time. I'll post with my husband's results, once we get them.

Word is that HSMP Team working overtime due to the backlogs being inconsistent with charging regime that was meant to enhance processing times- even then I'm impressed. May also be a centralised HSMP Team mail depot/box.

If its for a UK unit of the US group/ company it will help expedite - if not then it will be ingored.

1. Opened and date stamped.

2. Payment processed.

3. Assigned to caseworker. (From 1 to 3 if fee exempt). This is the time consuming period and would be typically a minimum of 2 weeks after payment processing.

Royal Mail tracking ..tracks documents up to the nearest 'sorting office' so yes, =your package got to the Doncaster sorting office at 6:40 am, and was put in a red 'royal mail' van..and delivered to HSMP team a couple of hours later!!!
