Change of Tier 5 to Tier 2 visa: Is DBS/ criminal record certificate from UK needed?

Dear folks,
I was working in the United Kingdom for 2 years in healthcare sector on Tier 5 visa. I now have a new job and I am currently in India applying for a Tier 2 visa.
The website does say that criminal record certificate is needed for any country you have lived for more than 12 months ?except UK. However the statement varies at different places and the application asks for a UK CRC.
Could anyone kindly throw some light if the home office does ask for a DBS/CRC of UK as well?? Any personal experiences well appreciated.
