KOLL ( Naric Not needed ) ?

Post by TushitS » Mon Jan 06, 2020 12:23 am

Hi Guys,
I am filling the online form for Naturalization. I have been granted ILR on 2nd January 2019 on the basis of engineering degree from India. I did not have to show any NARIC letter and I was granted ILR as my degree alone was sufficient for showing the knowledge of English. (in my previous tier 2 visas I think a PBS of 10 was used with respect to my degree )

When I am applying for naturalization I am saying yes to this question in the online form which says
Did you meet the knowledge of English requirement as part of an indefinite leave application made on or after 28 October 2013?

Does this mean that I only need to produce the degree certificate and I don’t need to produce any NARIC documents ?

Also as per this document ( page 15-16 ) looks like I don’t need any Naric evidence .

https://assets.publishing.service.gov.u ... .0-ext.pdf

“An applicant must provide an AQUALS or a statement of comparability from UK NARIC confirming the qualification is equivalent to a UK qualification. Where the qualification was obtained in a non-majority English-speaking country, an ELPSor an English language assessment (ELA)is also required. However, you do not need to see additional confirmation from NARIC where the
:•Home Office have previously accepted a degree qualification as meeting the requirements for an earlier application, and leave was granted
•degree was awarded by a UK university”

Thanks,
TS.

You do not need to provide any evidence as you already were granted ILR after 2013. So you do not need to prove your knowledge of English :!:

P.S. KoLL is part of the immigration rules and technically applies only to immigration applications.
Also currently under KoLL, NARIC certificate is required to use a degree obtained in India, given that India is NOT considered a majority speaking English country as per rules. I suspect you may have been granted points for ILR under other provisions of KoLL

I think in prior tier 2 visa (2016) I already got the english languge condition satisfied because of a points based system where i got 10 points . So subsequently an ILR was granted because of that in 2019 . So i guess dont need naric certificaion for naturalization now but when i fill the online form in the document list it still says that i will need NARIC which is very confusing.

DO NOT BUMP old posts. People with ILR after 2013 do not need to submit anything
