HSMP Initial Approval Letter Validity - Related Discussions

Post by ravib » Mon Aug 04, 2008 7:31 am

Hi All,

HSMP approval letters are valid for 6 months....

I have few queries :

1.. Suppose if the approval letter is dated 5th Feb 2008 , what would be the expiry date ( 5th Aug 2008 or 4th Aug 2008 or it is valid for 180 days including the date of approval )

2. upto what date we can apply for EC ,, when I enquired at BHC , Chennai , they have informed me that the letter should be valid at the time , they receive the application , not the date we are filing EC at VFS ...

Senior members - Please clarify.

Regards
Ravi

Since UKBA only talks of 6 months validity (and not 180 days validity), an approval letter dated 05-Feb should be valid until 04-Aug (end-of-day).

I believe BHC/VACs are now considering the "payment clearance date" as the date of the application, rather than the day when an application is filed / received by them. See For applications made outside the United Kingdom. e.g. - For an HSMP approval letter dated 05-Feb, one must ensure that the (EC) application fees is *cleared* on/before 04-Aug.
