VFS Document Submission Confusion - Please help

Post by sharaj450 » Wed Jan 22, 2020 6:46 pm

Hi All,

I have recently completed the online application for a spouse visa for my wife.

I see there is an option to submit documentations by walking in to my nearest VFS Centre - 66 Wilson Street, London.

Is it possible for my wife to submit the following documents at her bio-metric appointment in her home country:
1) Marriage certificate (original)
2) IELTS Life Skills (original)
3) TB Certificate (original)

Whilst I submit the rest of the documents e.g. Sponsors finance, accommodation, proof of relationship etc in London VFS Centre?

We have also purchased the assisted scanning option during the booking of the VFS bio-metric appointment

Also I plan to submit my documents before her bio-metrics appointment - will there be any problems doing this?

Thank you for your help.

Hi I am in a similar position to you in that I was also confused about the submission process. I did my submission today.

My understanding is the documents do not need to be originals. Ideally if your wife can scan and email you the documents that you have mentioned and then take them with you to the Wilson Street office along with your other documents that will be better.

Another tip- try to go around 12pm. When I went there was nobody there and the whole process took 10 minutes!!

In terms of what you have asked though, someone more qualified maybe able to confirm. I am just speaking from my own experience

All documents need to be submitted before biometrics appointment is completed. You can ask her to take it to a print shop, get them to scan and email you the copies.

Alternatively, she can use the assisted scanning at her biometrics appointment to upload these (as far as I am aware)
