Earning via Cash

Post by Fidan0317 » Fri Jan 31, 2020 11:15 am

Hello everyone, I have will be applying for a spouse visa hopefully by the end of the year. I have recently started working full time at a supermarket and will be earning £19,300 a year (gross income), however I will be recieving payments by cash in hand what would be the best advice for me to take on in terms of demonstrating my income alongside my payslips and P60.
Would putting the cash straight into my bank account be the best thing to do.
Will the fact that my payments are not going straight into my bank account cause any problems.

Regardless how they pay you, are receiving a payslip showing tax deduction and national insurance contribution?

If it's cash in hand without any taxation or anything, you won't be able to use it/

I will have payslips and p60 showing tax reductions, as I will be paying my taxes but only recieve my payments by cash. Will that work I will still be putting my earning into my bank account

You need to deposit the amounts into bank account. I would also make sure that you deposit exactly the amount in you payslip (even if you withdraw some money same day).

Can you ask them if they offer alternative methods, like cheques? Because with a cheque, you can still take a copy of it before depositing in the bank.

See page 32 of the guidance document linked below for the requirements for using cash income.

I'm just a guy on the Internet who immigrated to the UK. My opinions are based on my experience and interpretation of the immigration rules and should not be considered legal or immigration advice; your mileage may vary.
