Date you plan to arrive in the UK

Post by whattheheck » Mon Feb 03, 2020 10:11 am

Filled in Spouse Visa Application and I put the "Date you plan to arrive in the UK" as Feb 2020 for my wife and payed for IHS.

Havent paid for application yet but should I redo application with a later date as its not realistic to get the visa this month, even with priority when its not even submitted yet... or does it not even matter?

I just wouldnt want the visa to come through and already be expired...

Help!?

If you don't put a date in the future (that hasn't already passed), the visa should be valid from when it is issued.
I'm just a guy on the Internet who immigrated to the UK. My opinions are based on my experience and interpretation of the immigration rules and should not be considered legal or immigration advice; your mileage may vary.

Self Uploading, Still Mail Passport?

Post by whattheheck » Mon Feb 10, 2020 3:21 pm

If the supporting docs for a spouse visa application are self uploaded on VFS Global...

do you still send your passport to the UKVI scanning hub in NY?

or do the Application Support Center hold onto it when you get your biometrics?

Cant get a straight answer anywhere!

If "you" is an applicant, then
or do the Application Support Center hold onto it when you get your biometrics?
If "you" is sponsor then you just upload the copy if you do self upload
