Bank Statements

Post by jagumsley » Mon Feb 10, 2020 10:11 am

Good day everyone,

I'm about to help my wife apply for her UK spouse visa (I'm a British citizen). For the financial requirement we will be using our cash savings of which 6 months bank statements are required. The only problem is that my bank is overseas and they send me statements quaterly. This means that I can get bank verified statements up until December 2019, but will have to wait a whole month before I can get the next bank statement, which will be sent by the end of March.

My question is, is it possible to use the transaction history of my bank account (which I can get a printout of up to the current date), however this will not be verified by the bank. I'm not sure if anyone knows if this method is possible or if there is perhaps another way around this issue?

Many thanks,
James

The requirement for bank statements is that they must be:
"(1) on official bank stationery; or
(2) electronic bank statements which are either accompanied by a letter from the bank on its headed stationery confirming that the documents are authentic or which bear the official stamp of the issuing bank on every page."

The most recent statement must be dated no earlier than 28 days before the date of application. So it sounds if you can't get something on official bank stationery, you will either need some sort of verification from the bank on any electronic statements you may be able to obtain or you would have to wait until you receive the next official statement.
I'm just a guy on the Internet who immigrated to the UK. My opinions are based on my experience and interpretation of the immigration rules and should not be considered legal or immigration advice; your mileage may vary.

Hi Geoeng,

Thanks for replying so soon. I think I'll give the bank another try to see if they can't give me my transaction history accompanied by some form of verification letter from the bank.

Regards,
James
