Citizenship Eligibility

Post by Hassan10 » Sun Feb 23, 2020 4:56 pm

Hello,

Citizenship criteria says, that the applicant has had ILR for 12 months, I have ILR for more than last 12 months but my wife got the ILR in August 2019 as my dependent, my question is: my wife also have to wait for 12 months to complete so, she can apply?

Thank you,

Regards,
Hassan

Yes she have to unless you applied now for citizenship and your application been successful and you got your citizenship so she can apply as soon as you become British citizen so she doesn't need to wait for the full year if she meets the other requirements

Providing your wife meets all the standard requirements, she can apply as soon as you are granted British citizenship.

Please don't send me PMs asking for immigration advice on posts that are on the open forum. If I haven't responded there, it's because I don't have the answer. I'm a moderator, not a legal professional.
