Life in the UK test centre not accepting ID

Dear all,

I really need your help here. My wife has a Syrian Travel Document for Palestinian Refugees. She has got her Tier 2 Family dependent visa 5 years ago, which is stamped on her Travel Document (no BRP) and now we have to apply for our ILRs.

When booking the Life in the UK test for her, I chose ID as Passport and nationality Palestine, then they rejected her application saying what she has is a Travel Document. So we re-booked the test with ID as "Travel Document" and nationality Palestine. They again rejected her application saying this is not a UK Travel Document.

Now we are in a situation which looks like a gridlock and don't know what we should do. Other family relatives who has similar situation, simply booked as "Travel Document" and nationality Palestine, and simply let into the test and everything was smooth.

I really appreciate your advises and comments.

I have a related question please, can we use for the Life in the UK test an ID (which is another valid passport issued by Palestinian Authority), that is different from the Travel Document we use for the ILR application?

The reason is that, I am unable to add the other passport into the online ILR form which doesn't allow two IDs for the same nationality.

I know it sounds confusing, but I do appreciate your help really.

I'm no expert in this matter but I think yes, you can use a different ID. Our pass notification letter only states:
Names
Present nationality
DOB
Place of Birth (town/country)
Current postcode
Method of verification = BRP. But it doesn't specify the BRP/document number.

So I assume as long as the Palestinian passport is valid for verification, the ILR will only check the personal details match your application.

You can use only one of the following documents:
1. Passport
2. BRP
3. EU identity card
4. Immigration Status Document (Do you have this or perhaps try to get it from HO?)
5. UK Convention travel document
6. UK Certificate of identity

Thank you for your responses. I have contacted the Home Office actually and asked them, if the ID I use for the Life in the UK must be the same ID I provide for ILR and they said no. The ID checks for Life in the UK are only for the Life in the UK and it is not necessary to use the same for ILR
