Future Intentions Requirement

Post by Scout908 » Sun Mar 15, 2020 1:09 am

Hi All,

I have recently submitted my British naturalization application online and have got all my biometrics etc done so now with home office for decision.

I just had a quick question, I was reading up on the requirements and just found out about this future intentions requirement, I fulfill all the criteria except i think maybe one as follows.

"there is no information to cast doubt on their intention, for example, either:
o a partner who is or intends to live outside of the UK"

I have only been outside of the UK only 55 days within past 8 years since i moved to the UK.

My only concern is that i got married recently few months back in my home country and my wife is currently living abroad there.

In the online application I have mentioned that i am married and given my wife's address, is there a possibility that this could cause issues since my wife is currently living abroad ? My plan was to apply for my naturalization and as soon as got my passport apply for my wife visa to come join me in uk.

As you will see in the past 8 years I have only been outside of the uk for 55 days and UK is my permanent home and also currently working and have been working here since I came.

So if someone could give an answer from similar experience where their spouse etc were living abroad at the time of application and what response they got ?

Hopefully this should not cause any issues but just a bit worried now.

Thanks

Your wife doesn't matter in this application. You get the citizenship on your own merits and your own profile. They have no reason to doubt your intention to live in the UK.

It's common that people have a partner abroad in this day and age. They are more likely to think she will join you when you meet the financial requirements than the opposite.
