10 year continuity still valid or not??

Post by Rabz80 » Mon Mar 16, 2020 1:17 am

Dear All

I came to UK in 2010 September in student visa. And after that i always applied within time for the extension/new visa. Cutting the story short my work permit visa was curtailed in 2015 and i did manage to apply the FLR(FP) within the time limit I had. I did not hear from HO at all. In 2018 my circumstances changed drastically and my husband left me while i was pregnant. I exhausted all my resources and applied for Asylum while my last application was still pending with HO. After applying asylum in April 2018, I received the bail document as part of asylum application. Later in October 2018 I received the HO letter stating that my FLT(FP) application has been varied to asylum only as one can only have one application at a time. Keep in mind they did not refuse it they alter it with asylum. Now in September 2020 my 10 years are completing. One of the Soliciter says that continuity isn’t broken, the other one says applying asylum breaks the continuation!! I am so very confused. Can someone explains me about continuing 10 year rules or where i can get details??

Applying for asylum does not break continuity
