ILR Backdate

Post by PLC2020 » Thu Apr 02, 2020 1:08 am

Dear Sir/Madam,

I was expecting to send in my application of indefinite leave to remain on 24th March 2020 with 5 days priority service. This allows me to be granted an indefinite leave to remain on 31st March 2020. Subsequently, my expected new born baby on 14th April 2020 will automatically become British citizen. Due to corona virus outbreak, the application submission has been postponed to 5th May 2020. As a result, my expected new born baby on 14th April 2020 CANNOT be automatically become British. May I ask if there is a possibility to backdate the issue of indefinite leave to remain? If not, is there anything I can do to enable my new born baby to become British without paying fees on naturalization?
Your advice is much appreciated. Thank you.

ILR status is granted on the day of the decision. If your baby is born before you get your settled status, you must register your child as British using form MN1 instead. There is no other way around it
