Gaining A Fiancee Visa For The UK. - Quick Query

Post by Tidus » Thu Aug 14, 2008 3:01 pm

Hi, thankyou for reading. If you reply , very much appreciated :-D

( I live in the UK, my Fiancee lives in the US )

I would just like to know whether or not it is possible for my fiancee to come to the UK on the usual 90 Day Visa. The one you fill out on the journey. Then apply for a Fiancee Visa...

Basically, my question is:

Is it possible to apply for a Fiancee Visa, whilst my Fiancee is not in her country of origin.

Or/and:

Is it possible for my fiancee to travel to the UK, whilst in application for a Fiancee Visa.

Thankyou for reading this Query....

:D

She can't apply for the fiancee visa from the UK while here as a visitor; that application has to be made from the US.

She wouldn't be able to travel to the UK while the application is being processed for the simple fact that she will have to send in her passport to the consulate with the application and supporting documents.

You need to apply for a fiancee visa in the US and marry within 6 months of her arrival on this visa in the UK. Immigration take a dim view of anyone arriving as a visitor and then attempting to change the status.
i.e She wasn't just intending to visit after all...hints of minor deception.
