Child's first British Passport Application - Questions about documents

Post by kayzee » Thu Apr 23, 2020 9:02 am

Hi

I hope everyone is keeping safe during the pandemic.

My wife and I have Indefinite Leave To Remain. I secured ILR before my child was born here in the UK she was born few months back and we have her birth certificate from our local council.

I have completed the online application.

Documents requested include;

1. Full birth or adoption certificate
2. The non-British passport parents had when you were born showing indefinite leave to remain.

I just wanted to clarify if it mandatory to send the original ILR Biometrics Card or if a photocopy would do?

Since the start of the pandemic, has any one recently done a similar application for their child, did parents need to send their original ILR Biometrics Card, did you send any other supporting documents (e.g Parents Marriage Certificate), how long did it take before their chlid's passport and supporting document to arrive?

Thanks in advance.
