Tier 2 Visa Extensions for visas expiring on or after 1 June 2020

Post by HV11 » Tue May 12, 2020 9:52 pm

Hello Friends,

I am an Indian national, presently in the UK on a Tier 2 (General) visa which is due to expire on14 June 2020.

The current situation, due to COVID-19, is that all visas are extended until 31 May 2020. However, it is not clear what will happen to those visas which expire after 31 May 2020, i.e. whether they would be further extended to a later date, or would you be required to submit an extension visa application normally?

Whether or not I would be granted an extension by my employer is not clear yet. In any case, I wish to avoid travel at all costs for another 3 months and stay at home in the UK at my own expense (if at all possible).

Anyone in this situation, please connect and let me know what you think.

Obviously, I have reached the point where I have to issue vacation notice to my landlord, book flights, etc. but the situation is so uncertain.

Thanks for your time.

If your firm plans to offer you an extension, they probably should have applied for COS this month so it's ready and assigned before you make your application before your visa expiry date.

Maybe start searching for the job in anticipation that the worst could happen. If you live on your own, maybe move to shared accommodation and start saving more for a few months if you have to live without job and search for another one.
