Sorry for adding comment in other post, I was not sure if i should create duplicate posts. My query is regarding the confusion on the earliest qualifying date.

Could you please confirm?
My BRP Issue Date: 17/09/2015
UK Visa Start Date: 25/09/2015
UK Entry Date: 08/10/2015

Should I apply 28 days before BRP Issue i.e. 17/09/2015?

I’m collecting my documents and planning to submit my application 28 days before the qualifying period (which is BRP Issue date). However while drafting my application online I realised I need NARIC certificate or B1 test to prove the English Language requirement. I got my T2 visa in Sept2015 hence I was not aware of the new English Language requirements. I have placed a request for NARIC certificate which I should get in couple of week’s time.
Now my question is should I wait for the NARIC letter before submitting the application? Or should I just submit the application so that my application is picked earlier because anyway there is a huge delay in biometrics appointment or the reuse emails.
It would really help to provide your suggestion. My father passed away last month and I cudnt travel due to visa issues, I would like to get this done as quickly as possible and travel to meet my family in this tough time.

Hi Zimba,

Thanks for your patience and the help, i have following few questions from the application form. I have tried to search through the existing posts but couldn't find the exact answers hence such a long post.
Please note that i entered UK in Oct 2015:

1. Since you first entered the UK, have you had any absences from the UK?
Q. I have been on multiple holidays in the last 5yrs which were mostly within 7 days however i had been to my Home County twice for longer duration due to family emergencies.
In 2018 for 72 days as my mother had a surgery and then in 2019 for 108 days as my father was Hospitalized. Both the times i was working from home without any unpaid leaves and was within 180-days limit. I am working with my employer to get the Absence Letter, do i need to provide any other documents to show the evidence of these longer absences?

2. Have you previously lived in a country outside the UK including your country of birth?
Q. I have lived in AAA(6 months) and BBB(1.5yrs) from 2011 to 2013 however the stamping was on my old passport which i lost and don't have the exact dates since all my travel related details were in my previous company email. Do i really need to add any stays before 5yrs in UK in addition to the home country? If so, is it ok to give the approximate dates?

3. I also had one UK visitor visa(in 2013) in my old passport which i never used due to uncertain circumstances. I did not see any section to provide previous approved UK visas so i guess it is ok not to mention about it.

4. I am really confused about English Requirement section in the application form, I am going to get NARIC certificate so what should i select for below:
Do you have a degree that was taught in English? Yes (I have overseas degree taught in English language)
Country your degree was taught in? Home Country
Does your degree meet the English language requirement for this visa?
If Yes,
What will you use to prove your degree taught in English? Degree certificate Or Transcript (i am going to use NARIC)
If I select No in above question, on the next page it asks
Have you passed an approved English language test? and asks for further exemption questions
so i believe i should select Yes.

Hi Zimba - I have few questions about the Employment letter, updating them in the same post instead of creating another.

Q1. I have received below from my employer about Employment letter. I understand this should be fine while uploading the documents however wouldn't i need hard copy on the day of Biometrics?
"Kindly note that due to lock-down, posting of physical letter will not be possible. You will be provided with digital copy of the letter with xxxxxx letterhead & sign."

Q2. The Employment letter (draft version) is addressed to this address, i am going to book appointment in the Croydon Center. Is this correct?

Do you mean it is fine if the Employment Letter is later than the Application date? I read in one of the posts in the immigrationboard that the documents shouldn't be after the Application date.

Hi Zimba, are we sure of this? i have been informed by one of the solicitor it is the Visa Entry Clearance Issue Date not BRP start date. My company is running Redundancy process and the results will be out by August end so do you reckon i apply 28 days before BRP start date?

I applied for my initial visa on 2nd September and received an email from high commission on 4th Sept that my application for UK visa is successful with permission to enter UK from 25th Sept. I think I chose a later date for the visa start (don't remember the reason), which means visa was actually approved on 2nd sept and I could apply 28 days before this?

You should have concrete evidence about the visa issue date. Any official letter having that date on? Yes you could but its always safest to use the BRP date as its handy. Many applicants either do not keep a copy of approval letter or loose it. Note, sometimes approval letter date and BRP date is the same but sometimes approval letter date could be earlier than the BRP issue date. But safest is to use BRP date if you do not have clear proof of visa issue date.

I’m now worried if my employer make me redundant while the application is pending. I have read in other posts that the employer notifies HO within 10 days so keeping the backlog in mind there is a high possibility. What options do I have?
Start looking for another job with employer willing to sponsor but that generally take some time due to RMLT, considering the timeframe should I start looking to switch my job?
