Hi there,
I have read that the Tech Nation reviewers don't particularly like consulting so I have wondered whether I should remove that work experience from my CV. I won't put that in my personal statement in fear of being outright rejected but I have worked as an architect at a products company called xxxxx for just over 5 years from 2013 to 2018 and in the last couple of years I have designed and implemented products for our company's clients as well as what 'could' technically be considered consultation.
I need to word this as even though I am a contractor, I am actually building a product platform with the client and not just 'consulting'. I am actually soon moving over to this client directly for a 6 month contract to continue the work. I have also built a rather damn nice product which has not gone live yet thanks to some 3rd party timelines and Covid-19 but not even sure whether I should mention it :/
This personal statement thing is getting to me as I don't really know what landmines I might be dropping but I believe I have what it takes to qualify since the stuff I've done was quite advanced (micro services, process automation, AI). I am also just a bit afraid about the title I've held for the last 9 or so years as when people hear 'architect', many think it is an ancient Greek word for 'he who cannot code anymore'
Any tips would be most welcome!
