linked FDs in savings account

Post by saurabh_gyl » Mon Aug 25, 2008 8:12 pm

Hi

I have maintained more than 2800 GBP all the times in my savings account for last 3 months. I have few linked FDs with the account, which are seperate from the required funds i have maintained. Do I need to mention them.

My bank states 2 terms

Available balance: only operative account (always more than 2800 GBP)
Total available balance: operative account + linked FDs

Also do i need to provide FDs for them. Bank cannot provide statemnt of FD account. reason i didn't understand

kindly advice.

Case worker want to see if you have maintained GBP 2800 in last 3 months. He/She will not look at if you have DMAT account connected to that, or Home Loan being paid, you are paying utility bill from that or have FDs connected that.

ok i guess i missed one point above

my operative bal = x
my non-operative bal(FD) = y
total bal = x+y = z

x > GBP 2800 at all times

bal in bank statement = x (submitted as proof)

but bank said if anyone calls them to ask bal then their answer = z (=x+y)

now can this be problem.

Saurabh

It shouldn't be problem. I never cross a case where Bank was contacted for cross checking the balance.

Higher (x+y) balance can never be a problem.
