[FAMILY EMERGENCY] Request Passports

Hi all,

I have submitted my EEA(EFM) application along with my EEA partner's Residence Certificate application around late June, so both our passports are with HO.

Unfortunate things happened at the same time, my partner's Dad who is in Germany had a heart condition and life is really at risk . Also my cat in Hong Kong just had an operation and his situation is uncertain .

I am so desperate to get both our passports back so we can travel if really need to, especially for my partner as he wouldn't need to have his passport on hold if it is not for me.

Anything we can do? The page to request passport only give the option when you also withdrawing application. Do you think I can send them Cover Letter with pre-paid envelope to see if they can return passports while remain the application?

Quite apart from the question about retrieving your passports, how will the EEA EFM applicant re-enter the UK? Do they have a current visa to reside in the UK?

The EEA citizen partner should be able to travel to and from Germany with their German ID card.

My EEA partner has the passport only, so it is really the only travel document he has.

I am the EEA EFM applicant, I am on Tier 5 visa currently and it wont expire till end of next year so as long as I get the passport back I am okay to travel.

If anyone has experience about retrieving passport while HO processing EEA EFM/EEA registration certification application, PLEASE LET ME KNOW
