Re-using now not valid English proof -ILR

Post by lucy_colombianSpouse » Tue Aug 18, 2020 11:24 am

Hello,

Any help appreciated, we are about to apply for ILR via the 5 year route for my husband. I am very confident we meet all the requirements. However, since our last application 2.5 years ago, the proof of English language requirements has changed :x We have used for the last 5 years a TOEFL certificate with way above the requested level of Proof (C1 I think). He also has a masters in English but from a German university. It is now requesting we spend another £180 to get this validated via NARIC. My argument is we have used this for the past 5 years with no issue, why do I need to do this now? If we just send the TOEFL certificate we've used for the last 2 applications along with the Masters certificate, can they refuse us?

Thank you!

Condition for reuse are/includes:
a. must have been used in the past for a successful application
b. must still be on the approved list for English test accepted by HO

Since not meeting B, options i am aware is either to
a. NARIC evaluation
b. take an approved English Test at Level B1 (correct level for ILR) https://www.gov.uk/government/publicati ... uage-tests

More views/opinion can be expressed by others to help.
