Good that you have a clear understanding of how difficult the ADR is.Najeebshah17 wrote: ↑Sun Sep 06, 2020 1:21 amHi. I am a British Citizen via naturalisation route, working as doctor in the NHS. My parents live alone in Pakistan and we were thinking of the best possible route which could permit them to come stay with me in the UK. I understand that elderly parent’s are unlikely to be accepted for Immigration as rules are pretty tight. Could we apply for a 2 or 5 year multiple entry visa so they can visit as and when.
Please advise. Very grateful for your help
Many thanks,

For visit visas, besides the arrangement for the visit i.e. the financing and not becoming a public charge on getting to UK, one of the most important if not the most important things that is checked by ECO is/are things to convince them that the applicant(s) will return to home country after the visit. There need to be indicators of a strong tie to and reasons that can be evidenced to show that they will leave the UK afterwards.Najeebshah17 wrote: ↑Sun Sep 06, 2020 1:34 amApologies. Should have mentioned that. My father has been to the UK at least 4-5 times up until early 2000’s. My mother has not. They applied for visit visa 3 years ago which declined on the grounds that HO didnt think that they would return.
Thank you,

Do your parents have previous history of visits to the UK? |Why I asked this is because it appears one cannot just apply directly for a 2 or 5 year visit visa. There is a need to go with the 6 months and up overtime after applicants have shown visiting without being a public charge and returning to home country. It is like building up travel history and trust/reliability with HO.
You are welcome, if there are other questions or things you need to clarify, the good people on here will do their best to.Najeebshah17 wrote: ↑Sun Sep 06, 2020 12:03 pmThank you for the sound advice. Much appreciated.
