Right of Abode query

Both my husband and myself are Indian citizens settled in the UK with indefinite leave to remain in the UK since 2002.

We had our child born on 2nd July 2008 in Reading, UK. We are considering whether we could apply for Indian passport for the newborn baby and get the certificate of entitlement for the Right of abode (CoE for ROA) under 2(1)(a) of the Immigration Act 1971.

We heard some news reports on new immigration proposals which mentioned about converting CoE for ROA under 2(1)(b) to “permanent visaâ€
