Naturalisation-Referee-Parents' Details

Post by Lenova » Thu Sep 17, 2020 8:49 pm

Dear All,

Will you please guide me through this question?

Did you meet the knowledge of English requirement as part of an indefinite leave application made on or after 28 October 2013?
Applicants who applied for, and obtained, settlement on or after the 28th October 2013 using an English language qualification at level B1 or above can use this as evidence of their knowledge of English language. However if this qualification was not used and accepted for their settlement application, it cannot be used for this application.
1)Yes 2) No
Will it be correct if I say " NO" as I did have had to submit the English Language (CEFR B1) Certificate during my ILR ? It is only required for the Naturalisation, kindly clarify on this.
Thanking you in advance.

Refugees are exempted from English Test at ILR stage. Select NO. And then it will ask you how you meet the requirement now. You will select the B1 certificate then which will also show up in your checklist.

Thank you very much for your help CULLINAN . I am trying to book an appointment since a week but No Luck with that. There are no booking slots available until the end of October, it is very annoying, I need to find one soon as possible as I believe there is some sort of deadline for that.

Thank you once again for the detailed information Cullinan, I am slightly confused regarding few more questions though. Will you please advise on that ?

I have uploaded all the required documents but in Mandatory documents there are "NO" options for me to upload anything . I am guessing may be it is due to my circumstances as I discussed earlier in the post. Therefore, I have submitted all the documents in "Optional documents" section instead as that was the only section accessible to upload the documents.

Another major confusion is regarding the booking the appointment slots. Am I suppose to simply wait for the email from the UKVI for the further step to be taken ( booking appointment or IDV App) ? Or Do I have to religiously check the UKVCAS site to find the booking slots every now and then ?

As per the UKVCAS update ; they will send an email to the applicant asking to book appointments either in the centre or through IDV App ? I would have booked it already if there were any slots available :( I don't understand the idea behind sending email to the applicant to book an appointments when there are nothing available in first place. I have seen some post where the applicant mentioned they went to service centre after being used IDV App. How does this work ?
Please advise !
Thanking you in advance.

Ignore the categories. Mandatory and optional. Just upload. Categories are generic and the website only categorise passport to be mandatory (even though other documents are mandatory also) also but this is how it works.

What date did you pay and submit??

I am assuming you applied after 11th Sep.

You will have to wait for UKVCAS to update the flash message. For now, the booking system is only open for applicants who applied up to 11th Sep.

Note, majority times the booking system opens up even before an official update comes up OR an email is received.

So you will have to keep checking the biometrics topic i posted previously for recent developments. Members post their experience there and then everyone knows that the system is open. You have to be pro active as appointments are eaten up quickly.

You will only be able to book an appointment or use IDV app once the system opens up for you.

You will be notified by email if you are eligible for IDV app or not.

If you are eligible for IDV app, you will be able to provide biometrics from home via the app. However, you will have an option to book an appointment instead also. Choice is yours.

If you are not chosen for IDV app, then you will be given a chance to book an appointment only. The booking system will open up for you then and you will be able to view appointments.

Please keep all your future biometrics related questions in the biometrics thread i posted earlier also.

Hope this helps.

Thanks again CULLINAN for your immense help. Finding the appointment slots seems to be the only goal in life at least for the time being now

I will keep on updating regarding the biometric progress in the post you have mentioned earlier as well.
Massive thanks
