Got HSMP - Have to apply Business Visa now

Post by h_s_m_p » Mon Sep 01, 2008 2:35 pm

Hi

I am in a strange situation. I got a post dated HSMP visa from Oct 01st. Now my current employer wants me to travel to uk for a business meeting (for 2 days). Will there be any problem if i apply for Business visa now. I can't make use of the hsmp visa since the its valid only from oct 01st. Can someone pls tell me what are all the options available for me now. I can't avoid this travel.

I don't want to pre-pone my hsmp visa dates also.

Regards

Anybody can give any advice. I called up the VFS office and they were not very helpful. One person put me on hold and came back and asked to me to write to BHC. BHC is not attending the calls. At any cost i don't want my hsmp to be cancelled because of BV application.

Can't you travel using the HSMP visa itself? Why would you want another visa? Generally, you can have only one type of visa per country I guess. Not sure though.

First i called up the VFS call center and they straight away told that my hsmp visa will be cancelled even though its a post dated one. There were not able to give me a proper reason for the same. They simply said that my hsmp will be cancelled.

Then I called up the BHC ppl and i was told that the decision is entirely upto the EC officer to take. I didn't want to take any risk with my HSMP visa. So I persuaded my employer to send someone. Unnecessary tension ;(

@HSMP,

ECO wil think you are trying to play some tricks. Be careful not to fall victim of a cancelled Visa. I have a friend who this happened to and she was invited to the BHC with all her family. All Visa was cancelled immediately by the ECO. It took God's grace and intervention for BHC to reissue the Visa. So dont take any unnecessary risk. Wait till HSMP visa is valid to travel Let your business or office know this clearly.

My little advice for you.

Cheers.
