Advise on my application and DVLA different name

Post by Bazaar » Sun Sep 27, 2020 11:51 am

Hello,

I'm a EU citizen with settled status for over a year. I'm planning to apply for British citizenship, I was wondering if there is going to be an issue since my passport and my driving licence have have different names, my driving licence has two given names and my passport only one , this is because I dropped my first name legally through my consulate but I never updated DVLA, will this discrepancy between passport and driving license be an issue? If it matters I don't drive, I never had a car, just a licence .
I'm applying with my passport of course, I don't mention driving licence at all, I will only explain that I previously had a first and middle name.
:?:

thank you

Not an issue. Your passport is the important document - driving licence not relevant for this purpose. UKVI are not going to validate name formats across a multitude of databases.

Naturalization-Date of submitting application- 5 years to the date

Post by Bazaar » Mon Sep 28, 2020 8:28 pm

Hello,

Is it true that the application should be submitted on a date when 5 years ago I was in the country ?

Let's say I was submitting my application on October 12th, do I have to send proof that I was here on Oct 12th 2015? for me the only way to prove it is by sending a bank statement for that month making sure there is a transaction made that date Oct 12th 2015
does it really have to be that precise date or could just send the application any day in October regardless there was a transaction made on that date ?

thank you

Not at all.

You don't need to specifically prove that date - just make sure your absences don't show that date as being absent from the country.

And bank statements are not accepted for anything.
