Thank you very much Cullinan. This is very detailed discussion and explanation you given in the post.
May I request you to correct me or guide me if something i misunderstood.
In my case (MN1 form - for child ):
1.
First referee could be my family friend/neighbour (a holder of British Citizen Passport and either a professional person or over the age of 25). The
professional person could be anyone from this list (
https://www.gov.im/media/624353/listofreferees.pdf) right ?
2.
Second referee must be the person who is engaged with the child in a professional capacity (i.e. such as a teacher, health visitor, social worker or minister of religion) but my question is could this referee be the citizen of any nationality ? if yes, then, Can a doctor (of different nationality; not British) be considered as a referee who engaged with the child in a professional capacity and knows the child personally as well ?
why i want to double check the point 2 above because in the Referee Declaration form
(
https://visas-immigration.service.gov.u ... on_MN1.pdf) (for child applicant) its not clear whether other nationality professional is acceptable or not however for adult applicant it explicitly says that (see below).
"Where the applicant is a child applying, one
referee should be a professional who
has engaged with the child in a professional capacity, such as a teacher, health
visitor, social worker or minister of religion. "
"For an adult application, one referee should be a
person of any nationality who has
professional standing, eg minister of religion, civil servant, or a member of a
professional body e.g. accountant or solicitor (who is not representing you with this
application)"
3. Unluckily if i didn't manage to get the referee details (engaged with the child in the professional capacity) you mentioned that
"add a cover letter and show evidence of correspondence (if possible)". What type of correspondences/documents are acceptable? email conversation with the referee , any written note from the referee denying he/she cannot endorse the applicant due to some reason or something else.
Thank you very much again for your time and efforts you all guys put to correct and guide everyone on this brilliant forum.
Apologies for writing too much
