Requirements to marry a EU National

Requirements to marry a EU National

Hi,

I am an Indian national working in Gibraltar along with my GF (Swedish), we plan to get married. It would be helpful if anyone can let us know if we can get married and we can live and work together in Europe. I have read that we can get married but cant find information about after what time of marriage that I can start to work in EU. Is there any special kind of permit. I do have the Schengen visa till feb'09 so I can visit all the schengen countries if required to marry there.

Please do let me know your thoughts.

Marriage rules for foreign nationals differ by country so you should go to the respective country's embassy website and find out what you need to do.

As for settling in the EU, read up on Directive 2004/EC/38. This site has a good overview. Again, when you decide which country to move to, visit the embassy website for details on what to do.
