ILR SET(M) ONLY SUBMITTING ONE PARTNERS FINANCIAL DOCUMENTS.

Post by misterhelp » Mon Oct 05, 2020 9:36 pm

Hi,

My visa is ending at the end of October and I was hoping someone could help me with my dilemma. Just for reference we are filling in our own application.

I and my partner are both working, I am employed whereas my partner is self-employed since early this year.

I alone earn enough to satisfy the financial requirements and would be easier for us to just submit my payslips and corresponding bank statements.

Whereas with self-employed it would get a bit trickier as my partner cannot provide financial proof for self-employment for the whole year as it has not been a whole year yet. My partner before becoming self-employed was employed but had to leave due to his employer not giving him his whole pay, delaying giving salary etc. which I know from experience would cause more problem as the salary on the payslip does not correspond to the salary given (shown in bank statements). We have had this problem before where our case got rejected due to salary paid not being like the exact figure on the payslip.

So, my question is would it be ok to leave out mentioning my partners financial situation at all as it makes it very confusing. If so, would it be ok for me to leave the section on financial requirements blank for my partner.

Also, if someone could let me know how many days does it take for us to receive the Life in UK test certificate (if there is one).

Thank you.

Yes you can meet the requirements on your own. Partner’s financials evidence not needed in this case.

You do not receive a certificate anymore for LIUK.
You’ll get a ‘unique reference number’. You’ll need this number to complete your citizenship or settlement application. The Home Office will use it to check that you’ve passed.

Thank you for the prompt reply, so I can just leave my partners financial requirement section empty as well as not filling in the NI number?

Are you filling the online form? I have no sight to the online form but I am sure there must be a question how you fulfil the requirements. Once you select yourself only the online form should adapt accordingly and not ask any further details.
