Switching from Tier 2 to Student Route

Hello Folks,

Due to Covid-19, I have lost my Tier-2 sponsored job in September, 2020. I am planning to start masters course as I got the job only after completing my bachelor degree here in the UK.

My question is, do I need to show bank statement with sufficient fund as maintenance evidence or I can apply to switch to student route visa without showing any maintenance requirements as I am already living in the UK for more than a year as per new rules introduced from 5th of October.

I would highly appreciate if someone can answer my question. Thank you in advance.

The new Student Route is for all applications made on or after 5 October, including visa applications, extensions and those switching in. If you are thinking that somehow you need to do a different application, you do not.
