Changing job - ILR approved waiting for BRP

Hi All,

Sorry, if similar question was asked, but i couldn't reasonably find the answer and feel my situation is slightly unique.

I recently applied for ILR via tier 2 -5 years route. I received email from Home office on 17-Oct confirming my application was successful. I am still waiting for my BRP.

I have got another job offer, which is much better than my current job. Actually, they offered me the job before i applied for ILR, but they didnt want to sponsor, so we agreed they will wait till i have my ILR in place.

They are now pushing me to sign the contract, which i don't want to until i have resigned from my current job. However, i haven't provided my resignation to current employer yet, since i haven't received the BRP.

How long do you guys suggest to wait before i resign from my current job?
if they ask me, i am planning to say i got the job offer while i had applied for ILR and have no intention to join the new company if they are able to match the salary package.

Do you guys see any risks here?

Just wait for the BRP as approval letter alone is not proof of your immigration status. You are free to change jobs as you like. No issues.
