Biometric resident card for non eu family member of eu citizen

Hi , My parents came on 16 oct 2020 on a eea family permit to join me. I already applied for their biometric card . Now i come to know that i had to apply for their pre settled status first and BRC afterwards to get a 5 year biometric resident card. Its been a few days i posted their BRP application. I don’t know i’ve done it right to send it or not. Please help me
