Work Permit - Entry Clearance New Zealand

My work are sponsoring me, I need to to back to NZ for the entry clearance. I'm really worried about how long it will take to be processed seems like 20 working days is the minimum and that it can take up to 12 week does anyone know how long its currently taking and if its quicker in either Australia or New Zealand and if there are any ways to fast track it what so ever. I was planning on going home for Christmas to do it.

Also I am currently on a working holiday visa I've been told that its a bit of a grey zone with regards to having worked 12 months out of 2 years and that it can be looked at as 365 days, I have been working full time but 5 day weeks does that mean that the weekends do not count as part of the 12 months ? Looking forward to hearing from anyone

You cannot add the weekends that you were not working to the 12 months. It is 12 months whether it is full time or part time as well. Please see this case, which discusses a person who works one hour a week for two years, and that this does not meet the rules for working holiday makers!

Out of interest how are you intending to return the UK - under what type of visa?
Is your employer authorised to sponsor you and are they aware of the rules when trying to bring in a non EEA employee?

From what you have posted it seems they do not know the rules or they would have stopped employing you as you have exceeded the 12 month working period.

Just a little word of warning if your employer gets caught employing you having exceeded your 12 month period I think the £10,000 fine might just put him off bringing you back to the UK.....

It seemed very unclear as to whether it was 12 months continuousely, in total or 365 days. I haven't yet worked 12 months for my employer but was hoping if it was 365 days on the working permit that I could hold off going back to New Zealand until Christmas to get my entry clearance as its so expensive. In that case then it sounds like I need to go home as soon as I have worked 12 months. Which will be the end of Oct. Does anyone know of any way to fast track the entry clearance or how long they take on average in November ? Also If my work permit is approved which I am still waiting on then can the entry clearance still be rejected ?

Yes, entry clearance can be refused, e.g. owing to past immigration history, even if a wp has been granted.

Unlikely that your visa will take that long. Two weeks would be a long time to wait in NZ.
Please note that your employer will need a licence to get you back into the country after November this year, Have they applied? If not you can not return until they a licenced.
